SMV is in the process of launching a First Lego League with our collaborative school, St. Stanislaus.  Teams have been registered and materials are arriving, allowing students to practice with the robots and challenges this year as preparation for competition next fall.

First FTC (First Tech Challenge) is the next step after Lego League, giving our older students a chance to continue honing their robotics and programming skills.  Open to 6th, 7th & 8th grade students, our FTC teams will also collaborate with St. Stanislaus.  Our goal is to be ready to compete next fall, using this year as a "learning opportunity"-a way to become familiar with the materials and coding.

We would love to have parents and parishioners work with our teams as mentors and/or coaches.  You would work with the teachers to help each FLL and FTC team build and program their robots.  VIRTUS training and a background check are required.
