We believe the values learned in team sports will last a lifetime; therefore, SMV provides several opportunities for grades 5 - 8 to participate in a variety of team sports.
SMV/St. Stanislaus Athletic Program is a member of GRACEAC (Grand Rapids Area Catholic Elementary Athletic Council). Our intention in offering athletics is to expose students to the arena of competition and to help them grow in skills and dealing with the lessons that competition can provide. These lessons include winning, losing, competitiveness, teamwork, sacrifice, fairness, and perseverance to name a few.
GRACEAC offers a number of sports to area schools, including football, boys and girls basketball, cross country, volleyball, soccer, and more. Registration occurs online through GRACEAC prior to the beginning of each season-parents are notified through the school. The school pays the fees for student participation; however, all scheduling and team assignments is through GRACEAC.
